The beginning of summer is always an exciting time in Sandpoint – the snow melts off the mountains, the beaches fill up with crowds, and the streets downtown fill up as people enjoy the warm weather.
Another sure sign of summer each year is when the Shingle Mill Blueberry Farm opens its doors to the community to pick fresh-off-the-bush blueberries.
The family-owned operation has a variety of blueberries to enjoy. In 2016, it’s no different. They opened their doors on July 1 (a couple weeks earlier than usual) for the 2016 season, starting out with only a couple varieties open for picking, and the rest being over the coming days and weeks.
